Co-invention with Jack Smith, FAIA for a Thermally Isolated Building System. Principle goals of design include solving an inherent problem in steel detailing, thermal transfer, and advancing low cost building systems. The system is inspired by the steel detailing of Mies van der Rohe, most specifically the Barcelona Pavilion. Proportions are based on Fibonacci sequence and the Golden Section for beauty. The system can be mass produced, delivered flat, assembled with ease, and reused in addition to the ability to respond to various uses, climate, and cultures. The structure is capable of withstanding large lateral loads typical of hurricanes and earthquakes. Currently seeking funding to complete R&D.
